    Hi there from London, UK

Just converted a Sinar P2 to Digital with sliding back to progress use of the camera.

Noted that some photographers are selling off there 5 x 4's as they feel they would not use them and have moved to MF digital and full frame 35mm size digital. Are there any other photographers who have kept their 5 x4 for the option of using digital backs on them, or are we a rare breed? Thought that we could make larger pictures, if needed, by using camera movements and stitching in Photoshop.

Any advice on lenses? Are the non digital lens just as significant to use as the digital? Realise that technically, digital lens are designed specifically to reduce various aberrations and corrections but in reality is this visually noticeable?

Look forward to contribution in forum discussions, starting to get cold over here, brrrrrr!

    best wishes,

    Carl

I spoke to a well kown food and advertising photographer in Germany who recently went digital by fixing a Leaf back to his Sinars. He claimes that the Schneiders and Rodenstrocks he used for film are also good for digital. When he shoots outside the studio he puts the Leaf on the Norma and he says he only stitches when the client needs extra big files.
