Wow, that's really something. I would have been excited to come across it myself. I'm a little surprised the wings have survived, although it looks like a sword (?) has gone missing. I would very much like to photograph more of the South.
The statue of Michael defeating Lucifer isn't stone but rather a resin composition and only stands about 24 inches. It took a while to finally photograph the statue because it was being vandalized nearly every Friday night and then repaired. The sword had been broken off. The wings were constantly being broken off and repaired. I shot the picture about 3 years ago and went back a week later to shoot some more photos but it had disappeared.

Used an orange filter and a few movements. I had to use all my front rise plus I still had to tilt the camera back to get the tower. I also used rear tilt to keep the film plane level. Still learning so I have no idea if I did the right thing. This is also a scan of a print.
Here are a few churches I've documented in the mountains around the area I live. Many of these are now gone.
