Public Eye, Pretty Baby, Cheaper by the Dozen (short family portrait scene in the original version), Far and Away (land rush scene), can't remember titles, but there have been several westerns that showed photographers getting shots of dead bodies in coffins and several baseball movies with sports shooters and their speed/crown graphics.

There are a few rather prominent scenes in "The Last Samurai" where Timothy Spall's character is using a LF camera to photograph the Japanese. Maybe thats the movie you were thinking of?

Also, theres a small snippet in Pollock (wonderful movie with Ed Harris as J. Pollock) where Pollock is being photographed by a Life magazine shooter, she uses a Deardorff 8x10 with a 14" f6.3 Kodak Commercial Ektar lens.

    Talking "The three amigos"

    "The three amigos", really!

"El Guapo" was about to photograph a sort of harem scene when alerted by his henchmen of the presence of "three gringos" that get in their way of harrassing the people of "santopoco".

If I remember correctly he was using a tailboard camera (ok for the period), but with plastic film holders!

Hmm, some interesting stuff to add to the Netflix queue, but it seems there aren't too many movies about LF photography.

I can imagine a plot about a young pioneer chasing his epic dream - man's undying quest to capture a slice of the world. He is secretly in love with Keira Knightley but spends his hours brushing salts on parchment. The sarcastic gallant makes fun of the silver nitrate stains on his hand and is about to marry his lady love when lo and behold, he presents the lady with a thing of wondrous beauty - her portrait in salt! They live in the darkroom happily ever after and breathe mercury fumes .

I saw that movie the other day. For some odd reason, I cannot remember the cameras at all, the only images remaining in my head are the black high heels, the whips, the stockings, etc, etc....
