Kind of scary yes, why do we forget to smile while making self portraits ? Are large camera users too serious and stiff ? ^@^
Large format photography is not only about size.

Maybe we are concentrating so hard???? When I smile I always look like it is fake.

    Laurent,

Cette photo me rappelle Peter Ustinov. Je l'aime.

It's one of the few photographs that I've seen of a photographer that is whimsical and doesn't come off as an overly serious, if not overbearing, cliché.

Steve, you look like Stephen King, only in good shape. Remind me never to get you mad, or to draft you for my large format football team.

    Jeff,
A very, very pretty young female friend of mine was assigned to shoot a portfolio of nude self portraits by her university prof. This was for her graduating portfolio submission.
I told her to report the prof.

Instead, she shot 12 pictures of herself, exposing a bare ankle only, an elbow only, etc etc.
She never revealed anything even close to an intimate view. Rather brilliant I thought.
She got a very good grade on the project.

So do you want LF self portraits or any format
Forum rules require that photographs be large format. Not a rule I agree with - seems kind of silly when it comes to sharing photographs (as opposed to discussion) on a low-res device like a computer monitor but that's the rule, at least as I recall it.

Not really a portrait ... my dive partner took my picture with a Nikonos just after a great dive. Its the best and only picture of me.
