    Post Your Hand Colored Prints

    hi all,

i have been thinking about hand coloring some prints for some time now. turns out i got some pencils with a bunch of stuff i bought the other day so tonight was the night.

i took this shot last week in the Pete's Valley area. i saw the scene and it jumped out at me for a hand coloring. this is what my mind's eye saw when i looked at the scene.

it is an 8x10 neg printed with Van Dyke Brown on arches platine paper.

lets see what you all have!

this is fun stuff. i will need to make some more photos with this technique in mind. my pencils will not write on RC paper so my negative selection is limited by the paper, the scene, and the exposure.

here is one more i did this morning. another VDB on arches platine. this is a wonderful sycamore tree. it is huge. i have been trying to get a good photo of it for along time....i am always afraid of people cutting down these big ole grand trees.

i have another here. it is my very first one. it is a 6x7 cm neg so i am only posting a link to it.

    thanks

eddie, I was never too taken by those alt processes (though I have not seen a print personally, only the reproductions). But the colored trees in your second post have taken me aback. It's simply stunning (the 6x7cm too)...

These are beautiful! Any chance that you can find time to post an article on hand colouring?

I did this one about 9 months back. Hand coloring is quite a bit of fun, but I've just not had the time to get back into it until just recently.
