Slide Show MPG from Folder of Photos - Mac Based?

What is the easiest/cheapest way to export a slide show type .MPG or .MOV file of a collection of .JPG, .TIF, and .PSD photos in a folder? (Mac-based)

Somehow there must be an automated way to do this using iMovie and Photoshop....

I just did this in 2 minutes...
Put the slideshow pics into iPhoto and create an iPhoto slideshow. Then export it to your desktop, iDVD or anywhere else. It automatically saves as .mov
    I'm using OS 10.4.11, and iPhoto v5.0.4

Pete that's easier than my suggestion.

I thought the way to do it would be import the images into iMovie, then make a frame with a specified length. So each photo lasts 5 seconds for example.

    Then export.
