That building has been on my architectural bucket list for NYC for a long time. Good view of the Flatiron!

Part of the former Singer complex in Elizabeth, NJ
    Chamonix 045N-2, Super-Angulon 75mm 5.6, Portra 400

I shot this back in late 2013 or early 2014 before stupidly selling all of my large format gear a few months later. It sat undeveloped until this weekend. I may have actually overdeveloped it a bit in an attempt to squeeze more life out of my C-41 chemicals but it's nice to finally see the image 6 years later.

Always liked this building. Going to try and photograph it one day... nice work.

Thanks. If you do, be sure to take a walk behind the building as well, some interesting stuff back there too.

I’m sure part of it is the perspective and lens used, but is it as LOOONNG as it looks?

It's definitely as long as it looks. Just over 1/4 mile if I remember correctly.

    Re: post your Architecture photographs!

Here's a flatiron located in downtown Oakland, CA:

Shot it on a Sunday morning with 360mm lens on a Toyo 81G and printed as a salted paper print. The building is still there (since 1914) but the trees are gone and a Pete's coffee shop now occupies the front (vacant when I took the photo) with a walkway lined with tables and chairs extending from where I stood to make the photograph to the front edge of the building/coffee shop. It's located at the interseaction of Telegraph Avenue (on the left) and Broadway the right. I've been toying with the idea of printing it as an albumin print - just mixed a liter up - but the decision is out on that.
