Not if you mount lenses directly onto the Sinar shutter. They’re not designed to be weight bearing.
It's fine, regardless of it's design which I'm aware of. I have no worry of it breaking.

I did not know that. And knowing that now frustrates some plans I have

A while back I opened a thread about lens boards for my Meridian Model B. I found a 4x4 Graphic lens board that has a Speed Graphic adapter. The photo is with a 100mm f/6.3 WF Ektar mounted.

Yep; designed to go behind the front standard.

I got started in LF fairly similarly, in my case it was a Busch Pressman D. The old press cameras can teach people a lot and are a lot of fun in their own right.

My first LF camera was a Busch Pressman Model D. It came with a 135 Grafex lens, a 8.5" Commercial Ektar, and a 105mm Wide Field Ektar. That was a great camera, and I rue ever selling it in 2008. It came with a Speed Graphic case and 10 film holders; all for the tidy sum of $150 (1976). Year before last, I replaced it with a Tower Press 4x5.

    Enjoy yours!

My go to camera is still my Busch Pressman Model D. If necessary, I will pull out my Sinar but that hasn't happened too many times.
