Thanks. Is this the part? - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...nt_Format.html
Description at the link is a little odd, but flip this 90 degrees and it does look like it has the male and female dovetails needed to sit between the function carrier and standard frame.
That's it
Rod suggested that I forego the riser block as it compromises some stability. I do wish I had more rise... maybe I'll still order that if I ever really need it. The Z2+ ball head just arrived and that feels much better with the 8x10 than my Cube did.
Hey, Ari... don't you have the Cooke convertible? Would you try to use the 646mm config on the Arca? My standard bellows only gives me about 66cm of draw
I had that riser block, was fine with wide lenses up to a 210 SS XL but it wasn't exactly confidence inspiring
I'd hesitate to use it with a longer heavy lens
Christopher, I do have that lens; it's not terribly heavy, but using the single-cell lenses needs more bellows draw that the stated FL because the cells are placed behind the shutter.
So, when using the 646mm lens, you'd need 733mm (!) of extension to focus at infinity; more bellows and a rail extension.
I won't get to try this out until spring, still waiting to see what the final set-up will be on my Arca kit. Buying used, not new.
My Deardorff along with Fuji 210 L & 12 inch commercial ektar
The lensboards are 4 1/2 inches in size (not the usual 4 inch)
The 4x5 back is later vintage and has a little play when attached. I taped it tight the last few times to see if it makes a difference. Not sure yet, but it appears to be a little sharper neg....
I will try the original 5x7 back, which I've never used. Now that I can dev that film size and acquired some film holders..to be continued.
