My latest restoration project: a Rochester Optical Long-focus 8x10 Premo from 1901. Had to do some brass fabrication, stripped and replaced leather, sanded/stained/varnished interior wood.

Not pretty, but pretty darned good.
An interested party asked why the back is so large. The answer is that it 4x5 universal which accommodates all modular back accessories. Very unlike my wooden first pass as shown here which required a special insert.

This is my latest LF acquisition a Linhof in sheeps clothing, An MPP MicroTechnical MkIII based on the Linhof produced during & just after WWII, part of war reparations. (I have posted the images in another thread).
The leather covering needs replacing, but the camera was very cheap £75 and came with most of the parts to re-assemble a second, I could sell the parts inc good bellows for more than I paid for everything
It's nice camera mechanically excellent but tatty covering which I'll strip off and replace, maybe rebuild the other and find the missing parts, or use the parts for a project camera, I've a few on the go.
I've discovered it's quite easy to make an adapter to use modern Linhof/Wista lens boards which is a bonus as my main 5x4 camera is a Wista 45DX, and I've made adaptor boards for two Seneca 7x5 view cameras and my 2 10x8 Agfa Ansco cameras to use Linhof/Wista boards. That's important as I have two lenses that I can and do use for all 3 formats a 240mm Nikkor WA and a 300m Nikkor M, but far more lenses I use for 5x4 & 7x5.
Should add I have the Range-finder and cam/arm and will restore it I have new ragefinder half silverd mirror.

Ian - Did you you create a shim (my solution) or a full MPP board base to hold the Linhof/Wista ones?
Earlier today this topic was listed just above the 'Nude' one. Well, it made me smile!
Graham, I realised that I can make an aluminiumpiece to go between the Wista lens board and the front standard, I guess you could call it a shim. It's an easy solution though so it's good to hear you've done the same

I mocked mine up in a 3D cad package - my MPP VII board and a variety of the Linhof/Wista and near-clones - then subtracted one from the other to see if it was possible. I wasn't convinced just squinting at the two boards! The prototype I use was hand cut/filed from a sheet of ABS, but this is definitely a 3D printing candidate. The only gotcha is remembering that the effective aperture of the square MPP opening is smaller than the round one on the Wista and limits the size of the rear element.
My camera is a Vageeswari Camera Works wood field camera shown with a 14 inch f 6.3 Kodak Commercial Ektar. Originally the camera came with a 8x10 glass plate holder. I acquired a conventional 8x10 spring back which I adapted to fit the Vageeswari. I have also constructed a 4x5 Graflok reducing back and have adapted a reflex viewer for 4x5.
The formats available to me are: 8x10, 4x5; and any roll film format that fits the Graflok back.
Homemade 8X10 camera.
