That is sweet--I've been looking at it and the 57N (horizontal only) since both seem handle a big negative in a relatively compact package. A question: did you buy the H1 as a complete 4x5 camera and then add a back/bellows, or were you able to buy just the 5x7 package?

Size comparison between the Mercury 4x5 ultrawide setup with 47mm XL and custom 5x7 ultrawide with 72mm XL:

Finally got some fresh 5x7 film in the mail so might go shoot some this weekend.

I got both 45 and 57, just more option within a relative light package.

This is a beautiful portrait with good lighting. I will have to learn to use strobes. I never used strobes with Leica.

Thanks for the compliment. The lighting for that photo was done with light from a window (to the right), an incandescent table lamp (to the far left) and a folding reflector just out of camera view to the left. It was also enhanced in lightroom. Camera was a D750 with a Nikkor 85/1.8G.

I sometimes use them but I too have much to learn about strobes.

It's always nice to see younger people becoming interested in large format photography.
