good 1280 ink cartridges?

I have always had a problem with the MIS spongeless in cartridges in my Epson 1280. The ink for some reason seeps and leaks out the ventholes on top causing a mess and contaminating the inkwells with different colors. MIS has offered no solutions, and I am just tired of dealing with the issue.

So, what other empty refillable cartridges are out there that people here have used with good results?

The 1280 seems to be a bit to ancient for other ink brands like InkOwl / InkjetMall or even random Ebay sellers to have refillable cartridges made. Honestly, good work on keeping a printer that old running but it's remaining time may be limited.
