I use Epson 3490 to scan my prints. Most of the scans come out OK. But I have two pictures coming out unlike any other pictures and I I don't know what has happened. Here is a recent example.
Any ideas how to fix it?
Thanks.

What scanning software are you using, and did you change any of the scan settings?
Looks like the "cut-out" mode in CS..
Figure it out then apply for a patent..
I usually scan 8-10 prints and the scanner is always set on "Full Auto" mode. I put the picture down and click the mouse. The "problem pictures" look like all other pictures, but somehow my Espon scanner does not think so.
I don't know anything about softwares or how to make adjustment. I use my scanner like a copier. Too old and lazy to learn new tricks.
I love it.
Can you teach how to do that?
You've opened my eyes to a whole new look. Most cool.

That happens on occasion when I scan prints on my 4870. I can do several with no problem, then all of a sudden it does this. I have not figured out why this happens but if I scan the image a couple of times, or turn the scanner off and reboot it, I can usually get the scan to work alright. Like you, I simply scan prints with the Epson software. It doesn't happen often enough for me to really want to dig in and determine what is going on, so sorry I couldn't offer more advice, but at least you know your not alone in the world with this problem! Good luck.
