Way back when, the person at Screen USA to talk to was Kristen. Sorry, I don't have more detailed info. I'll be very interested to hear what the bulbs currently cost. Back in 2008, they were $200/bulb.

Is a Creo Scitex IQSmart2 the same type of scanner?
RR
No.

Thank you.
RR
I was a bit hasty. If by "the same type" you mean a professional flatbed that can be used to scan film, then they are the same type. If you mean that one they are different versions of the same model scanner, then no.

Thanks Peter for that reminder regarding cost
Maybe the strength of the dollar against the yen lately will help...anyway, I'll have to call next week, my phone just bit the dust...
Is anybody of you running ColorGenius v2.12 or later? The updates are supposed to install some new output profiles, but I can't find them on my machine despite running v2.13. The most important ones (for me, personally) are
5500AdobeRGB_16bit.C5T
5500sRGBDS_16bit.C5T
Could those who run this version have a look, wether these files can be found on their harddisk? It would be great to get true AdobeRGB (or at least sRGB profiled) 16bit output.
Christian
Christian, have you seen: http://www.screen.co.jp/pub/dtp/Colo...FTS5500_E.pdf?
In particular, it says:
" 3) Getting ICC profile for AdobeRGB
As ICC profile for AdobeRGB is not attached in th
is Driver, you need to get it from the following
URL:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads
. After you would get it, pu
t it into the following
folder in Macintosh system: “Library/ColorSync/Profiles”. "
That document, unfortunately, isn't written very well. I'm powering up the scanner and will look for the file in a few minutes.
My standard process with color slides, which I scan only rarely, is as follows:
Scan in 16-bit per channel RGB.
When bringing the image into Photoshop, I tag the file with an icc file made with and IT8 target and Lprof. I then convert the file to my working space. Note that "tag" and "convert" represent specific, and differing, actions.

Peter, this exactly has been my workflow before. But I am seeing some interesting effects that I am investigating further and ICC profiles play an important role therein. The profile you mentioned is an ICC profile, but the files I am looking for are ColorGenius specific C5T files that are used within ColorGenius to define, what ICC file has to be assigned to make the image look right. If you could have a look in your programm directory, I would be happy.
Best wishes,
Christian
I did, Christian, but I don't see them. I'm running 2.0.7.
