I think you can use the Transmac software application to sort this matter.

It can create images like SMG

However, its trial version is only 15days

I have bought a used Cezanne Elite scanner with only two reflection lamp in it. When powers on, the error indicaor lights up and home position indicator twinkles. Maybe something is wrong

Make sure the 'wing' is properly attached and that the bed lock is uninstalled. Also, I can't remember if the Elite will run with only two lamps in it, maybe someone else can chime in.

I thought the Elite had two bulbs total.

    FT-S5000 has 4 lamps . . FT-S5500/Elite has 3 lamps . . . Upper 1 for transmission . . Lower 2 for reflection.
You must have a Transmission lamp in place during initialisation . . !!
The system needs to check for the reference line of the moving scanner plate.
    Hope this helps . . .

+1, good info! I knew something was different on the Elite. Both my Cezannes are the older model.

    Re: Screen Cezanne Users Unite

A few years ago I drove up to New Jersey and picked up a second one - it was in a graphic design place that found me through this thread I believe, but they hadn't used it for a long time. It turned on but they didn't know how to test it otherwise.

I took it apart and cleaned it up, lubed it, etc. and got it working nicely. Then for a couple years I struggled getting a second Mac G4 tower to recognize and properly connect to it. For some reason it works perfectly connected to my current G4 that I use, but on the other G4 it just refuses to work. Finally I had a hard drive issue crop up and I kinda just stopped bothering - seemed like the market for these had really dwindled and I got the feeling it'd be a slog trying to sell it so I put it on a cart and it's in my storage area of the basement.

If my current Cezanne decides to blow up I will just switch it in and get back to work. I love the convenience of the Cezanne so I guess having a spare makes some sense. I still have a half-dozen bulbs purchased direct from Screen in storage too. I figure I can run these scanners pretty much indefinitely with what I've got now. I think camera scanning and the various products around that is making these kind of scanners mostly obsolete in the film renaissance, but like I said, I prefer the convenience and batch scanning ability - not to mention the exceedingly good performance, especially when putting in the effort to do stitching and such. Oh and I can scan a full sheet of 12x20 on the bed so that's nice too.
