Thanks, Alan. Good to hear from you.

Still making new photographs, but going through the old, and discarding. My goal is to leave no more than 500 prints from a career spanning 68 years. That gets me close to the 8 prints per year that Ansel suggested worth saving!

    Hope you are doing well.

    Best,
    Merg

How might one explore an image non-visually?

Maybe Baby Tree hidden to camera

    all tree start very small

I have a 2 year old, pretty tall now

Too close to shed, but shed will be gone well before tree thickens to 6' diameter

    Maybe shed will protect

I'm not sure if the OP was looking for a critique, but here's mine. I think there's a lot more going on here than at first glance. I like the positive-negative relationship with the green-red or red-green and the spatial relation of the tree like shrubs. The highlights of the rocks bother me a little though. The angles of the slope make the image somewhat dynamic.

Thank you for the meaningful critique. I know the picture doesnt have much going for it. I liked the colors and the slope, but nothing else. I could do better. I will try to post one with a real “tree” next time.
