No. I used a 300mm lens for this image and the background trees are quite some distance from the subject, so even at f32 there is good separation.

    Thanks.
It must be the JPEG compression then. Once my eyes catch the background I keep exploring it and having a hard time returning back to the main subject.

I can see what you mean. The background was busier than I would have ideally liked, but couldn't be helped. Flickr's resizing algorithm probably plays a part too; they tend to overdo the sharpening IMO.

Nice tones, and very effective placement of the sun.

Great! The balance of light-dark across a panoramic is always a challenge to work with. The triangle of sky in the upper left is handled very well. I enjoy the way the skyline echoes the right portion of the foreground tree on the right. It is a very active composition.

Thanks! Not sure at all about this composition myself.
Just got my 4x10 back and I'm really struggling. It's a whole new way to think about composing. It's hard!
You can not really do the usual low close foreground to background composition. There is just too much horizontal space to hold together.

I think a slightly higher perspective with more middle ground generally can work better in panoramas. But as I said, I'm still struggling.
