Hot damn Brandon. That is officially the best photo of that damn tree I've seen. The clouds/weather worked well for you.

    When were you down there?

Thanks, Brian - it was a beautiful morning. In the full-res version, there's a shrimp boat on the horizon that I placed just below the branch that's nearly touching the water on the left. We were there just after Christmas - a solemn time, as we had a memorial service for the little boy we didn't get to meet. It was nice to see a new day start, that's for sure.

Brandon - often photographs can take on new meaning with the stories one tells alongside them. Thank you for sharing this. I won't editorialize but certainly this gives more meaning to the image.

Let me know when you make prints.

Bryan, you're absolutely correct. I knew the beach was special that morning and am glad the transparency came out the way it did. The personal meaning has only become clear some months later, but it adds to my own experience with the image, and maybe, might with others. Or, at least a decent picture of that damn tree. . That, and the shrimp boat in the background...

I already posted the IR version last week but I also took a panchromatic as a backup. I thought it interesting to see the two together.
