Have you tried this as a vertical? Nice image btw. Looks like you have a pretty good handle on the Cyanotype process.

Thanks, Roger. I got into cyanotypes about a month ago and have gotten really technical in nailing down the process. Almost there. I tend to see everything as a horizontal but agree that this works nicely standing up too .

in the icy woods behind my house this past weekend. 9" Gundlach Hyperion, fp4+ in pyrocat hdc. Sorta minimalist, but all the tasty elements of a photo to me.

A beautiful study in tones. Brute force.

Nice! I need to mount my 6" AE-clone someday and shoot it.

Thanks Ed! I'd love to see what you could shoot with yours. I'll have to keep experimenting with mine. I think the characteristic out-of-focus rendering enhances the needle "effect" here - an example where subjectively "bad" OOF rendering can be used as an effect.

I took two images of the needles, and scanned the second today. Can't decide which I like better. The previous image was taken with some back tilt to change the focus area. This one was not tilted:

Thank you Jim. This next one with the 7.25" Verito is the same type of scene just using reflection to ratchet up the complexity one notch. I do like some glowing highlights; the winter sun reflecting in the wet ice in this case.
