    Re: post your trees!

During my latest sojourn on Cape Cod earlier this month, I was again struck by the trees close to the coast, which are just fantastic to look at. This gem in particular caught my eye, for all of its curves. This is in the beachfront park in Hyannis, on a particularly gray day.

Thanks Eric. Yeah, the high contrast and reciprocity characteristics of the Efke film, combined with Pyrocat, made this work. Wasn't sure it would and almost walked away but I'm glad I tried it.

On the Benton MacKaye Trail, in the Rich Mountain WMA. This is the photo I was shooting from the image I posted in the "Show Off your LF Camera" thread.

    Bryan,

I'm enjoying your "deep woods" images.
I personally find such images are challenging to make because of all the "noise" created by the background trees, branches, twigs and underbrush. However, your images are interesting and nicely composed. They seem to resolve the surrounding chaos.

I always considered this a "landscape" - however it's really about trees,

Dennis I really like the composition and the texture / Colour and density of this image.

Thanks Dennis, I agree about the "noise" inherent in images like these. Nice job controlling and using the dappled forest light in your image.

Thanks Byran and Chassis for your comments.

The image was taken many years ago, but I distinctly recall it was the incredible light filtering thru the trees that attracted me. The dappled light on the tall grass and trees really made the scene come alive.
