I was reorganizing my film files and ran across this one from March 2009. It is from the Merced river canyon, outside Yosemite NP. I scanned it up this weekend.

I've always felt images like this can be difficult to replay successfully.

Yours works beautifully with a strong compositional element in the tree, plus color and great texture. Really fine job.

Enjoy the high key snow photo; it's not my style but it still looks good.

Here's some trees at Birch Point Beach State Park, Owls Head Maine. 135 Optar and Speed graphic, 4x5 ilford FP4+ film in pyrocat hd. It is with a sharp lens instead of a soft one as in: http://www.largeformatphotography.in...=1#post1195818
I actually took it on a prior visit to the soft focus photos but just got around to developing it. I'd say it's different, not better or worse.
