    This dead snag is up in Sonora Pass. I have always eyed it and finally made an image of it I like. Nothing special, just a simple forest scene.

    I think it looks great. I could only see about the top half on my work monitor and thought it worked well with that crop but it works just as well now seeing the whole thing. I had that kind of outcome envisioned for one of my shots in the redwoods but everything muddled together and I didn't get the separation you have here.

    David,

    This is above the usual images because of the dramatic shadow. I really enjoy the extra power here. Don't have misgivings!

    To nit pick, the upper left can be toned down. It's rather bright and distracting and competes with the center.

    thanks. i plan to contact print it and see if i like it more. I do like the many different things going on it it.

    this is just a slightly messed with scan; i think it will be much better as a print
