AlexGard -- for some reason, that scene looks very Australian. Nicely done!

Most excellent strange picture there Alex! I like it very much.
    Where are we going?
And why are we in this handbasket?

Rock, trees, and light near Screw Auger Falls in Newry Maine. July 2017. 4x5 preanniversary speed graphic, 9" Gundlach Hyperion soft focus lens. 4x5 tmax 400 film in pyrocat hdc.

The pictorialists like Clarence White did some masterful Maine woods dappled light soft photos more than a hundred years ago that have inspired me to try. White and Day did dramatically lighted nudes in the dappled woods, but I think the woods is usually subject enough. I enjoy how the dappled light renders on film in soft focus, and I love how spooky the woods look with the lack of definition and fiery glow.

    Thanks Holden!

I purchased a piece of P99 acrylic sized to fit my 8x20 film and used it tonight to contact print that 8x20 negative. I won't bore everyone with another image but you can see a few prints in the tray on my Instagram linked below. Worked perfectly - I used some heavy metal bars I purchased as weight to hold down the light piece of acrylic. I use the same type of system for smaller P99 sheets in my scanner.

JP, I like the soft focus on this image and your aircraft shots. Interesting composition. For some reason reminds me of Thor's hammer.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
