Gabe, well done. Looks to me like a brontosaurus neck or something on the left, i.e., animate. The play of branches in the foreground is excellent.

Hmm, I was going to go with "dryad with daddy issues," but perhaps that's something for me and my therapist to hash out.
At any rate, I'll throw in my lot for the out-of-focus areas in the background--the toning really adds to what otherwise would be merely negative space. Hope it prints--it seems a candidate for the Cone inkset/piezography approach if that's an option for you in Old Blighty.
Thanks. Piezography is something I've never really looked into, although now I'm curious. Looks like there is only one service in the UK which does it (https://www.imageprintcentre.co.uk/p...nting-services).
Re: the background, it's actually mostly in pretty good focus apart from the lowest part (due to the necessary tilt). See the full size upload at https://www.flickr.com/photos/atomst...14558/sizes/o/. But yes, I did do some subtle luminosity masked burning in those areas to help bring out a bit more saturation and contrast. Some of the brightest areas of foliage were on Zone IX, but the compensation from pyro semi-stand helped with that somewhat.

What a lovely experience this was. Quite a long hike to get to this spot. Who says you can't use Monorail View Cameras in the field?
