Ken, the fuzziness of the far aspens distracts (me) from an otherwise interesting, sensuous composition. In the right light and with greater DOF this would be stellar. Any chance of re-visiting? -Chris

David, I keep coming back to this image, I absolutely love the quality of light and the tonal scale you've rendered it with, outstanding.

Thanks for looking and the constructive comments. I plan to revisit both the current negative and try to better nail the enlargement with it as well as going back to the site and try to better capture it during the same light conditions. It was a late evening shot with the sun going down quickly and the tops of the aspen being lit. So there was quite a contrast in the light and dark areas of the valley. As a consequence, some portions of the negative are quite thin. I've just gotten back into the darkroom after many years away so I'm still trying to redevelop my techniques and best figure out out to optimize the negative. Maybe split grade printing?

Really like this one Holden, just the kind of place I like to spend my time.

Very nice rendering of the light as well.

I love this thread! So many great images!

Here is one that I don't think I've posted here. A backlit shot from Yosemite printed in carbon.
