Thank you Dierk. As this is an 8x10 negative, my only option now is to contact print it. My Canon printer has died a premature death (3 years and now permanently clogged. Dreadful waste of money that) and I cannot afford to replace it. So, contact prints are my only choice now. Maybe I should be grateful that the miserable printer croaked.
I know, what you mean, my Epson 3800 is dry since 3 Years and I could not repair it up to now - or, to be correct, I gave up.
I loved printing on all kinds of Material from the great Hahnemüle to even Japan paper. For me the moment, when these large A2 prints come out of the printer is almost like the moment in the darkroom, when the image appears
Regards
Dierk
Finally got around to printing this tree. 5x12 ilford FP4 in pyrocat M , contact print on ilford MGFB Matte. It looked a little dull in gray so decided to tone it brown with Thiourea (2gT+8gSH+1LW) + Selenium 1:6 .
The month after I shot this tree it lost its large lower right branches . The left side has a support and has fewer leaf filled branches.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
