Is Mylar Archival for Storing Negs?

I've been storing my 810 negs in Mylar sleeves from Office Depot, was wondering if there could be any problems doing so. Thanks,

If it is actually Mylar (i.e. polyester) with no weird addatives , it should be just fine

    GB,

What is the product name and code from Office Depot?

I went to their website and could not find Mylar sleeves.

    Thanks,

Should be okay, so long as you have properly washed and dried your film. Mylar can claim 500 years of stability. If you are really concerned about "archiving", it might be worth paying the extra couple bucks for Print File sleeves, just because they place their business archival storage.

My reading tells me that 'archival' means nothing. You want products to say 'acid free' and pass the PAT. No PVCs as they outgas bad stuff.
