We have found that "Real World Scanning and Halftones" is the best of the bunch. It is the opnly book we recommend at our workshops.

I found the book "A Few Scanning Tips" by Wayne Fulton very helpful when I first started scanning. Don't let the title fool you, the "few tips" run over 200 pages. You can order the book through his web site www.scantips.com. Much of the information in the book is also on the web site so you can take a look before ordering. I think the book cost about $25.

Real World Scaning and Halftones is a good book for the basics.

For post scan processing, I recommend Real World Image Sharpening by Bruce Fraser.
