So interesting! Thanks for the comments and discussion.

Sergey, well said. This may be the worst camera phone photo of this print ever. I will post an upgrade, and would appreciate your feedback. I don't really don't do still life anymore but I like this image. You are correct. The post looks a bit like Pooh. I know better, stayed tuned.

I used to call this bent tulip, then my wife said she hated this photo because it just reminded her of death. I agree and like it even more now.
Here is the rescan. That first one really did look like garbage.

    Hello Will,

The updated version looks like a different image where the eye stays on the main subject and tends to explore its perceived qualities by slowly moving back and forth for many times!

    Thank you,

Makiflex Auto Petzval Ortho+ ADOX Borax MQ by Nokton48, on Flickr

Another test this time Makiflex Automatic 9x12cm Ilford Ortho + Petzval lens ADOX Borax MQ (D76 type I mix myself) replenished 1/250 F4 EI 50 Key Day No fill. Aristo #2 8x10 #2 RD print Ilford Multigrade dev. I removed the central stop in this "lantern lens" which causes a strong loss of sharpness from the center, but makes the lens wide-open about F3.5 eight inch lens or so. The central stop was blackened by a candle I think, the soot got all over my fingers.
