Frustration probably born of trying to achieve 2:1 macros on 8x10 with a 300mm lens and no geared camera base-plate! I now have a detailed chart of working distances and bellows extensions for different lenses and subject sizes. I'll very likely try my Nikkor-W 210 for these in future. Nevertheless, have now got 4 sheets exposed on similar subjects. Only one so far is out of focus - not sure why I even clicked the shutter for that one!

Also worth saying that Chamonix extension board, which I used for first time, is excellent. Technically Chamonix bellows on 8x10 only go out to 850mm, but with the Nikkor 300 I estimated the total extension to be 900mm, for 2:1. magnification. The neg is pretty cool!

Many thanks! Correct. Little space in my kitchen, though, to be unveiling 3 feet of bellows!!

Great picture indeed, but is this really LF or should it be in the MF section?

I do shoot 4x5 and 9x12cm film in the camera fairly frequently. Perhaps this one should be moved.

Seeing as we're a bit restricted at the moment:

Both of these are natural light, about 1.5 times lifesize, using an old 90mm @ F32 on my Croma - the film is from my last few sheets of Adox 50ASA developed in 1:50 Rodinal. Somewhat underexposed; I got the bellows extension sums a bit wrong...

    Another Clematis macro from me.

    Dev as before

As I said before, these are tricky to do with a 300mm lens on 8x10. Setting up to get working distance, bellows extension, and total distance from subject right are all difficult!
