The orchid is Laeliocattleya Powhatan, clone #148, bred by Arthur Chadwick Sr. in the 1980s and registered in 1990. In color, it is a white flower with an intense purple and yellow lip.
I know this is an older image. Does the photographer recall his/her f-stop? I’m mostly just curious. I have several orchids and struggle with making nice compositions when photographing them.

Given that this was done with my Kodak Ektar lens, I would estimate that the f-stop was between 11 and 16. There's maybe 3" of depth of field in that image, so f16 or less seems about right.

    Re: Flowers Anyone?

Thank you chassis! Here is another one that was shot with a slightly different focus point and at f8 (vs 16). I converted it to black and white and reduced contrast to make it more different from the previous version.

I like the color! Especially the green background.

An interesting halo effect around the two red flowers in the background - something going on with chromatic distortion, focussing differently perhaps?

I think you are absolutely right about some sort of lens distortion. I see this on the original slide and also on some other photos I took with a similar setup. Take a look at this photo that I took on 5x7 with a similar 210mm lens that shows pretty much the same halo effect on the out of focus flowers. I quite like the result actually

I do think my BW conversion has emphasized this effect more because I adjusted individual color channels manually. Below is the unadjusted color version of this 2nd image.
