    Thanks to you both. The loupe is one I bought off Eb@y years ago for $12--some sort of military surplus. The seller said it was used to view aerial surveillance photos. It appears to be somewhat corrected, but not by much, in that it has a sharper center than my other cheap meniscus lenses.

    I agree that there is some magic in that glass. It doesn't work for every subject, but when it works, it works well.

    Hey, thanks. I am pretty happy with this one, too. Type 55 spoils me: if I expose it right there is no worrying about N+ or N- development, or agitation, or developer choice, or maintaining accurate temperature control--just pull it through the rollers, wait 40 seconds and I'm good.

    Thank you. The tree is beautiful. It is 90 years old and about 60 feet high. It is one of the largest in the area.

    I've really been enjoying this thread. So much that you've all forced me to break out my Eastman 2D and try my hand. I think I need to pull my light back a bit from the flowers as this is too hot on the left side. Will try that tomorrow.
