I just purchased an HP Scanjet G4050 from Hewlett-Parkard.

I LOVE the way it scans pictures. I couldn't ask for better.

The real reason I bought it was because it will scan negatives in 3
formats, 35mm, 120 and 4 x 5.

I took some 35mm BW pictures and processed the negatives in my Jobo. They look
good to me.

However, when I scan then, the scans come out way too dark. So dark that when
I try to lighten then with Paintshop Pro or Photoshop, the highlights are burned out.

What am I doing wrong?

I've NOT scanned the 120 and I don't have a reel to process any 4 x 5's yet. I figured that I'd get the nack down with the 35mm before I went further.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve
