Robert - or, come to New Mexico. We've got old black lava fields partially covered with white snow. Perfect for color images. (LOL)
I am really looking forward to Silver this year.
Elevator will be showing some of our work in silver at the conference as well as the new digital fibre paper that we have been beta testing.
Laura and I are going to do a 21 day road trip through Louisianna, Texas and New Mexico on our way to Pasedina with our trusted dog Barney. I can hardly wait. It really is a pleasure meeting the owners of Ilford in a relaxed setting as well the added Bonus of meeting Tim Rudman again.
View Camera is a sponsor of the Silver Confrence. There is a division in the photo contest for large format and View Camera will be publishing the winners.
Bob, when you cme through New Mexico give me a call if you have time for lunch, breakfast or dinner.

Hi, for those who went last year is the Silver Conference worth going to? It seems mostly to be lectures?

Yes John it is well worth it. Not just the lectures, but the evenings where you get to meet and talk personally with the photographers, plus in some instances have your work reviewed by those who you respect.
Have heard that the Silver Conference has been cut back. Perhaps they are looking to produce a smaller student oriented event? It looks interesting, but short on specifics of how it works. Anyone have any details?

Richard Newman at Calumet is running the show, We at Elevator will be there with a extensive portfolio of silver prints and included in the mix Harmons new Lambda fibre paper.
As well we have sent down over 80 competition prints for Silver11.
Like all events there is the last minute rush of people signing up and I expect this to be the case again.
We are driving down from Toronto with our trusted pup Barney*The Hilton in Pasadena*is apparently dog friendly. I am looking forward to Silver and the warm weather in the Southern States. It has been bloody cold here in Canada the last month and the break will be fun.
I expect to have a few beers while I am down there.
