Anyone know where I can find the serial number for my TK45s? I've looked all over the body and can't locate it. Need to find it for insurance tracking purposes.

It is the number engraved on the accessory shoe.
Gotcha - thanks!
Seems like a strange place to put it...I would have guessed it was on the monorail somewhere...
Of course if someone has replaced the accessory shoe, as was done by a former owner of the Technika V I used to own, then the number on the shoe isn't the serial number of the camera. My recollection is that there's a number somewhere else on the camera that will tell you for sure but I can't remember where it is. Perhaps Bob Salomon or someone else here knows.

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticize them you'll be
a mile away and you'll have their shoes.
Leica does the same thing. Maybe the Germans like the idea that if something gets stolen it can be "reborn" by simply replacing an inexpensive part?
We could set Sigmund Freud on the case, perhaps it is a way their culture deals with war guilt or something?
