Sounds suspiciously like a New Year's resolution, huh?

Me, I crop too close. I often wish I had left just a little more room for adjustments during printing. I'll even say, "Hey there, self, do you want to back up a step or two?" "Nah, looks good" comes the reply. Wrong again.

Maybe I should keep the same lenses and buy bigger film?

My first inclination was to say that I resolve to stop responding to discussion forum postings (I seem to bang out a reply and then say "why bother" to myself... only to delete it before posting). But seriously, I have the same issue to work on. I'm not finding it an easy one to resolve. Half the time I crop too tightly; the other half I wonder why I didn't crop tighter.

Not printing what I shoot. I'll shoot some images, get them into the computer then fiddle with them endlessly until I lose interest in them... and never print them.

I resolve to make contact sheets before going straight to printing - even though I am sometimes so excited about a negative that I skip over the contact sheet phase, only to be dissapointed when I discovered I should have selected another negative.

I'm breaking the habit of breaking bad habits.

A few years back I gave up chasing women when I got married.
Right after that, I gave up recreational drugs in order to stay married.
Then I gave up smoking because I had a daughter and didn't want her breathing my second-hand smoke.
Two years ago I gave up drinking.

I'm running out of things to give up and everybody STILL thinks I'm a jerk. I guess I could give up being a jerk. But a guy has to have SOME fun in life, doesn't he?
