What to do with an extra shutter?

I have an extra Copal Shutter Press No.1. Shutter is new in factory box and I bought it for a project that never happened. Price of LF stuff is so low in eBay these days that there is no sense in selling that shutter.

My plan B is to use that shutter for something. Any ideas what could be mounted on that shutter? Low priced (less than 150 USD) barrel lens that screws directly in to that shutter would be nice.

I use 4x5" and my current lens line-up is 105mm, 150mm, 210mm in shutters and 305mm in barrel. Any new focal length would ne nice.

I've never had any lack of lenses to put in spare shutters, rather the opposite!

Ok, I'll bite. How much do you want for your shutter?

Is that Schneider G-Claron 240 f/9? Does it fit straight into my shutter?

Selling it is of course viable alternative. I'm open to offers (use private mail). Shutter is in Finland/Europe (EU).

Schneider G-Claron f9 lenses from 210 to 305mm focal length fit into size 1 shutters directly. It would be a good idea, though, to have a machinist check the spacing to make sure it is identical to the original. Schneider Symmar-S lenses are occasionally seen in barrel (usually Sinar mount) and the 150,180 and 210mm sizes fit number 1 shutters directly.

Thanks everybody for the quick answers. It seems that Schneider G-Claron 240/9 is my best shot at the moment. They seem to be fairly common and low priced.

180mm Schneider Symmar-S is also considered if one turns up.

The 240 G-Claron is a great lens... and you can usually find them for sale at about $400 in Copal 1 shutter these days.

As for your shutter... the latest model, brand new, is worth about $250 at most retail outlets.

    Cheers
