    Help - Lens identity ?

I am aware of a 210 4.5 lens which is probably a Process lens and am wondering whether it is worth rescuing. The only indication of it origin “is that it has a camera prism symbol with an arrow from underneath following the path a camera prism would and out through what would be the eyepiece.” The aperture range is 4.5 – 32 stepless and it does have serial no.

    That's an Industar, I think.

    If it's an IN-11, that's a normal lens for a FKD 13x18cm (5x7") plate camera or similar.

But there are a lot of different Industar lenses, see http://www.baierfoto.de/russobj/objektive/industar.html

f4.5 rules out process. Process lenses are in the f8 and smaller range.

It is an Industar 51 lens, formerly known as Industar 4. It covers 18x24 cm.

Mine does not. There's a little room for movements on 13x18, but it doesn't come near to covering 18x24.

At http://www.photohistory.ru/Factorys-logos.html you'll find the logos of several factories, many of which have made Industar lenses. It's interesting to note that there are several different "prism-with-light-ray" logos.

Checked once again - indeed, the Industar 51 only covers 13x18cm. It is the Industar 13 later being named Industar 37 that covers the 18x24cm format. Thanks for the correction.
