    Re: Wheelchair LF Photography

I see one on ebay for $2100 with local pickup in Milwaukee. Looks really nice. Small problem is that I still can't walk or drive (yet - I hope) after my 10 month hospital "vacation". It would fit just fine in our Transit van and we have enough headroom in our living room. But I think my wife would go nuts if I added something like this - I already have an 8 x 10 Linhof Kardan Bi and a 5 x 7 Kardan Master L on tripods in the LR that get flack once a week, but this would just blow her mind. I bet if I video'd her reaction and put it on YT I'd make enough to buy the stand ten times over. You should have seen the fuss when I got a little table saw - 3000 pounds, 5 x 7 feet without the auxiliary sliding table mounted, 3 x 4HP and two 1HP motors driving a 12 inch saw, a shaper, a power feeder, and a jointer/planer. Even has a 3 inch counter rotating saw ahead of the main saw to score the surface so you don't get tearout when cutting expensive veneered stock. Looks nice next to the 24" bandsaw. I've made a lot of our furniture on it so the noise has almost subsided. On the other hand most of the LR is taken up by her two full sized Grand Pianos. (She was a concert pianist in Japan before her hands froze up with Arthritis)

    Re: Wheelchair LF Photography

Just a quick update. I finally got a 4-wheeled walker and am thinking of how to use it as a camera support. I need to come up with a good way to attach it to the front of the wheelchair so I can drive around with it. Standing up with the walker for a few minutes to focus etc is do-able.

On the MF front, I've decided that a tripod isn't really usable from the chair because I can't get close enough without knocking it over, so I tried a monopod and it seems to work out pretty well - I had the Mamiya AFD on it today and it helps a lot. I put it down between the footrests and lean it back until I can see through the viewfinder. I think I'll give the Hasselblad a try tomorrow. And just for kicks I can try the Technika and the Fuji GX 680. I think it's a bit larger and heavier than the Technika...
