    good luck with your project! I have built backs and film holders ... the way I got around the T-Distance is by making the back and film holder out of the same material at the same time and making sure my home made ground glass and where the paper was going to sit, were in the same place.

    I do similar and buy hobby sticks

    Some are perfect size
