Washington, D.C.-area photography galleries, exhibits

I live about 1.5 hours from DC and don't get in often. However, I am interested in seeing more original work -- my interest is more traditional and humanistic than abstract modern -- and I hope to have more time for exhibition visits later this year.

I spent a full day at the Strand print archive at the Phila. Museum of Art some years ago, a special treat.

Anyone have favorite resources in the area, including Baltimore and points in other directions as well?

Lost Origins Gallery in Mount Pleasant. They also display work in an alley up the street from the gallery. Hours are mostly weekend and their website is painfully behind on what is exhibited. It's not all photography but at least half the shows are.
