Neck in a boot jack ... brings up the Stones' "Under my Thumb."

I'm sure it works, though. I find to hold steady I just need a steady surface. If standing on one leg to put on a hiking boot all I need to do is touch the side of the car with my hip or elbow, just touch - not lean on.
