Bit over 4kg. Not as bad as people want you to believe it is - unless you're horribly deconditioned.

Adjust the angle of the grip so you're not twisting your wrist awkwardly. Use your right hand to push back on the front of the bed/ door so that the base of the back seats into your upper chest/ shoulder while looking through the finder. The biggest annoyance is having to disconnect/ connect the shutter release every time you open and close the body. That's about it.

there are camera straps that use rock climbing rope

Certainly would easily hold a Technika but not sure how comfortable they would be.

I use this type of strap for my Fuji X-Pro1 and Sony A99II. I bought the original one from a lady in China who made them in different colors and lengths. The rope is very strong. Not sure how comfortable it would be for carrying the 4x5 though.

One of these days I'll try to find a strap for my Fuji GX680. It outweighs and out-bulks the Technika. Come to think of it there's no place to attach a strap to mine. They did have them on later models though. Hard to imagine what it would do to my neck, though.

I tested many neck straps and backpacks

    All were horrible for me

Except a very lightweight Yashica A and the OE strap

    So I bought another

    2 for $80

I loaned one out took 3 years to get it back!
