    Current LF shutter manufacturer

Was wondering if there is still any company still manufacturing LF shutters? I was under the impression that they are no longer manufactured but came across a post on another forum that made me wonder if I'm wrong.

Are Copal shutter still being made?

I have bought many ancient NOS

usually installed inside the old camera

I wood buy new if I had better cash flow!

I prefer NOS from Packard factory for hose, fittings and their very good Bulb!

I use 25 feet of RO plastic hose for operating them, when needed

I should try longer to find the limit

I also instal tiny microswitches for flash bulbs or wireless strobes sync

Years ago I had very weak hands from injury, getting the bulb working helped me rehab

Right after the last WW Burke and James made a series of 3 Rembrandt Portrait cameras.

They had factory OE Packard Shutters with barrel lenses & sync

Depends on how you stretch the definition. Cameras with electronic leaf shutters are still being made for instance. Hasselblad-X system lenses also still use leaf shutters (also likely electronically timed).

Ok. I would refer exclusively to those used on large formta lenses.

Few (if any) lenses for large-format film are still being made. The market for shutters to fit them had been drying up since (at least) the turn of the century. Copal was just the last player standing. So take care of your shutters and keep them in good repair!
