    Tent Camera Obscura

    An interesting take on a portable camera obscura? Or just a gimmick?

    it's no gimmick. he's the real-deal and has been doing these things for decades.

    The gimmick part I was referring to is the projection onto surfaces to introduce texture.

    I don't see it any more of a gimmick than shooting film, or doing alt process or contact printing 8x10.
    with photography, seeing it is the ugly stepchild / bastard son of the art world, everything's a gimmick and nothing is.

    I thought the idea was pretty cool, but I find Abelardo Morell camera obscura stuff intriguing because it's different, even when it's based on Van Gogh.

    When I look at the last photos in that article, his tent isn't very opaque.
    Expert in non-working solutions.
