Non-Permanent Glue For Camera Leather Covering?

I'm diving into doing a CLA of a just-acquired Rolleiflex 3.5F - and would like to find, as an adhesive with which to re-attach the leather body covering...something less "permanent" than my "go to" Weld-wood contact cement - which would offer adequate adhesion while still allowing me to re-peel off the leather coverings with relative ease should I need to fix (or re-fix) anything in the future. Anything available which might work? Thanks!

Contact cement will soften enough for removal when soaked in lighter fluid for 10 or 15 minutes before removal...

Contact cement will tend to stay on there strong holding the coverings under use...

I fixed some peeling "leather" covering on my Rolleiflex with Shoe Goo which has more give than most contact cement / glue.

Something more industrial would be 3m 4200 which can be removed with acetone.

I also think that I can use contact cement "incorrectly" by coating only one surface and not letting it get tacky prior to adhering two surfaces together - so the cement does not set up quite as securely as it would if I'd coated both surfaces and let them get almost dry first. Not sure how this would work longer term though...

Pliobond 25 is frequently suggested in the “Learn Camera Repair” Facebook group.

A "learn camera repair" Facebook group? (maybe as in: "group therapy?") Sign me up!

It's a private group, you have to apply but it's easy. The group is watched over by several highly experienced repair people from around the world. It's intended for folks who want to learn how to repair cameras and they strongly discourage questions like "My Frobulax 250 makes this funny sound, what's wrong with it?"

There are also a lot of free repair resources (manuals) at https://learncamerarepair.com

I use standard contact cement. For a strong, but semi-permanent bond, apply it to only one surface. Then, its easily removed later if need be. The use of Naphtha to soften it is also helpful.

I use rubber cement, but I use it like contact cement - coat both sides, let it almost dry out, clamp together. Sticks well and can be removed.
