I finally got the DeVere Intrepid 504 NEW head in it's new home
Not in operation yet, I will try for tomorrow!
Tiny bit of wiring, level my massive focus board and get a lens on a lensboard
Adding a lens should make balance perfect.

Looking good.
In case anyone needs to know this, the baseboard attachment bolts (i.e. the ones that attach the baseboard to the adjustment bolts) on De Vere DVB models are 2BA.
Thanks for the help!
I am assembling this DeVere wonder from parts
Most enlargers in USA were parted out, few have heads, lensboards, etc, then they binned them
Jolly old England is selling the lensboards way high, plus high shipping
I found 2 in USA, I can mod them to work
All my parts are on view and they all work... sorta
The enlarger 'Full Instructions' are a QR, which I have never used...
So I tried to buy/get a QR thing, but no, my 4 Macs won't let me get one
Most likely the Heavy MP3 Copy stand base will fit, no bolts needed. Gravity.
I just tried the NEW LED Head, I need to reset, I guess, as it almost works, but not the main function...
WE also suffered a FEDEX problem, somebody used a shipping HOOK and destroyed the first one, but sneaky like, the box looked good...FEDEX always wants a pre delivery Sig, but , I never do that. They just put it on my porch, no Sig ever.
This is a note to Maker, we will make this work!
England sent a new one ASAP
but no LOGO...as seen NOT in my picture

De Vere 504's, especially the 504 DVB with colour or multigrade heads are very popular over here right now - the prices have tripled in some cases. I recall that the base casting for the DVB has threaded tie-down points underneath (for on-ship use). Watch out for a few hidden locking screws if you need to dismantle some of the castings from each other, the rest is fairly mechanically obvious.
I bought it as wall mount with short shaft knobs, then the bench mount with long shaft knobs long ago
Degreasest the hardened grease back then
I am missing the safety chain and spring, but I can fiddle that
No carriers, but I have a few to try and DIY,
Got another lensboard coming from somebody watching me and eBay, he cut his price way down!
I like the IDEA of LED Heads, so we try
I fiddled a couple DIY LED heads for 5X7 and 10X10 some years ago
Certainly far less moaning about the golden gear of the last decades

So eBay sellers do read/study LFPF
I mentioned here I needed the spring and hook and bingo it appears on eBay at a reasonable price
Of course I bought it

The MKII carrier (i.e. your version with the masking in the chassis) is essentially just two 1/4" aluminium plates with nylon hinges - I'd not bother with a master carrier & separate inserts, but just make carriers for each specific format (De Vere offered those as well at one time). At one time I scanned a MKII holder to use to make artwork for laser cutting a single size holder, but it might take me a while to find the file.
