Removing bubble from Bogen 3051 Tripod

I have a trusty 3051 and need to change the bubble.

Is there a paticular BEST method?

I used a hammer and nail to break the top of the bubble, then carefully pried out the pieces.

Shouldn't be that hard to get out; chip away at it. I replaced mine a while ago and I am glad that I did.

Thanks all. I figured it would be easy. Like from underneath or something. I figured wrong hahaha. I will chip that old thing out as soon as I get the replacment.
