Szabad 8x10: Does anyone know what these things are for?

Just picked up a Szabad 8x10. Decent condition but a few things missing. A 8x10 back could be possible to find or make. Likewise with the tripod plate. The missing extension rail could be a hard to find. But I'll solve it.
Now for the question. On the right hand side (from the back) on both the back and front standard there are some mounted things I've never seen before. Looks like it's for attaching something. See picture 3 and 4.
Anyone knows? Or am I missing something obvious here?

Looks like a rod goes through the hole to stabilize the and connect the rear and front standards together?

Perhaps a bent wire to hold up Darkcloth or cloth as hood

Calumet C1 used that and my Studio Linhof has holes front and back

When I first got here I made and sold the wires made from SS spring steel

I use mine all the time

nice camera! it must be the metric version, it's much nicer than the imperial 8x10s that made their way to the states.

    mine doesn't have those fittings.

    Thanks.
It's probably an early one, manufactured for Hasselblad since it has no Szabad marking and is made out of mahogany. That makes it before 1953.
I didn't know he made different versions for metric and imperial.
Later ones though (from 1953) were black and had integral back base just like the front one. I have one in 4x5.

And just found a fitting gear rack, so I think I'll try to design and 3D print a back extension base.

I wanted to make something like that for my Century. I was going to use neo magnets to hold the rods in place.

dagor77 used to sell stabilizing bars for wobbly koronas, not sure what they were made of but he sold them by the wheelbarrow.

AWB sold a version called the wind stabilizer.
Weston had one made for his Century Universal.

I would also guess a stabilizing rod, and the bellows do not look to good either, but I geuss you know already.

    good luck,

The AWB was rather convenient, it came in a pouch with tools and extra parts. It has held up well, I've had mine for years.
    Unfortunately, it's no longer available.
