It is a good point. It may, although I haven't experienced it.
I use a glossy coated box (some electronic device came in it) and taped the cut edges where debris would potentially come from. It folds flat so it is easily portable, but I only use it at home.

Back when I still used a changing bag I made a box shape frame to go inside it out of half inch PCV. Simple to build, worked great and would dissemble to store inside the bag.

Fuji Dark Boxes work well. I have a couple of them. Ilford has a new pop up darkroom as well.

Small diameter plastic plumbing pipe is cheap and has pushfit corner connector (the sort usually used with glue, not the self-sealing type as they are annoying to separate after use).

Well, carbon tubes could be great and slightly lighter, but one can get some wooden dowels and with corner blocks....create the frame. There are myriad ways to complicate this, but that's up to a person.

As per sketch, I'd drop the two rails (broken line) and would rather install rubber ends at the end of the dowels to keep them from scratching the interior of the bag....and having space without unnecessary hindrances. One can allow the vertical pieces to fold/hinge (using screws, etc) since flat frame is easier to store. The dowels can be separated from blocks....and if loose......one can even use bathroom tissue (available just about everywhere) to keep things tight/er. Store pieces in plastic to prevent dust coating things.

On occasion I noticed there is real life outside the GG/viewfinder.

I use a Photoflex changing tent. The wire frame creates volume inside so its easier to change film. Been using mine for years without any problems.

Some use ice fishing tents as ice fishers want Black Out, so fish do not see the MAN!

You've certainly had bad luck with used gear.

With Harrison, many complaints are about light leaks with tents that are just a few years old. Users don't care for them properly. It seems very prevalent with this product. Maybe that's why the seller is getting rid of it. Why would anyone buy one and take a chance?

Yes, still wonder which to buy.
At the moment I am leaning toward the Chinese tent on ebay.
